Sun Studio 50th Anniversary of Rock 'n Roll Reunion

Resource Entertainment Group was proud to produce the 50th Anniversary of Rock 'n Roll Reunion at Sun Studio on July 5, 2004. The all-day festival featured renowned Sun artists Scotty Moore, D.J. Fontana, Sonny Burgess & the Pacers, Billy Lee Riley, Ace Cannon, and more. The Dempseys, REG's rockabilly wildmen, kicked off the festivities with their manic renditions of numerous Sun hits.

July 5, 1954 is considered the "big bang" of rock 'n roll, when Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and Elvis Presley recorded "That's All Right" at Sun, the tiny recording studio near downtown Memphis. Fifty years later, Scotty Moore, Justin Timberlake, Isaac Hayes, and other music superstars helped broadcast the historic song from Sun's control room to thousands of radio stations worlwide -- the largest broadcast of the same song in radio history.

The event received international media coverage. REG was honored to produce this celebration of a moment so pivotal to Memphis and the world's modern musical heritage.

"From my perspective, the REG team handled everything flawlessly. Elvis would have been so proud!" -- Jennifer Burgess, Elvis Presley Enterprises
