Wedding Details
Dear Brides and Grooms,
We created this page especially for you as you begin your search for wedding entertainment. We've handled entertainment at hundreds of weddings since 1996, so we hope you'll consider these points:
According to Brides Magazine, in hindsight:
- 78% of brides say they would have made reception entertainment their top priority (instead of flowers, reception site, catering, etc.).
- 97% (!!) of brides say they would have spent more money on entertainment (instead of decor, flowers, etc.).
- 81% of guests say the most memorable part of the reception was the band.
We're biased of course, but it's pretty obvious from the above statistics that entertainment should be one of your top priorities.
Other points to remember:
You can never book your entertainment too early! Our most popular bands tend to get booked six months to a year in advance.
Most bands perform a four-hour show: three 60-minute sets with two 30-minute breaks. The performance time on your contract will state "8:00pm-midnight" or whatever four-hour period you choose. In practice, however, few weddings go according to schedule, and our entertainers will always work around your needs.
Also note that few wedding receptions actually last four hours. We've found that the best receptions have the band play three hours — two 75-minute sets and one 30-minute break (which is a good time to cut the cake, make toasts, etc.). Having just one break holds the crowd and the energy much better. Of course, if the party is still going strong at the end of three hours, most bands will gladly play an encore. But keep the old show-biz adage in mind, and leave 'em wanting more!
Our bands bring all the sound equipment, stage lights, and other gear necessary for their show. Most bands look better on a stage, which you can arrange through us or your contact at the venue. With at least 60 days' notice, most of our bands are happy to learn a special song for you. Our bands will also provide recorded music to play before they begin and during their breaks, and you are welcome to bring a CD or iPod with your favorites. Most bands are glad to introduce the bridal party, make other announcements during your reception, and generally act as emcee.
We require a 50%, non-refundable deposit and a signed contract to guarantee the band on the date you want.
We will confirm all the details — set-up time, performance times, first dance song, etc. — a few days before the wedding. We'll also confirm the food and beverage requirements for the performers, their dressing room, and so on.
Our job is to provide a lot of fun at your reception, but we take your wedding day very seriously. Call or email us today to discuss your entertainment — and congratulations!
